On September 4, Huibert Vigeveno, executive chairman of Shell (China) Limited and Shen Hao, chairman of Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum (Group) Corp. Ltd. (YCPC) concluded theFramework Agreement on Strategic Cooperation in Oil & Gas Development. Under the agreement, the two enterprises, both among Fortune Global 500, will, based on their previous successful cooperation, push forward mutually-beneficial and reciprocal cooperation in the oil & gas fields. He Jiuchang, general manager of YCPC, presided over the signing ceremony.
Bai Aying, vice governor of Shaanxi Province, met the delegation led by Shell China Chairman Huibert Vigeveno before the signing ceremony, and then attended the signing ceremony and delivered an important speech. "The all-round strategic cooperation between the two sides is another major move for deep cooperation, mutual benefit and win-win between a provincial enterprise and a prominent multinational corporation, which is of great significance to boosting both sides' popularity and market competitiveness, and pushing up Shaanxi's energy chemical industry," he said.
Vigeveno hoped that the two sides would continue deepening their strategic partnership, and further deepen and expand their business cooperation on the basis of existing retail cooperation.
"The conclusion of the agreement marks a new stage for the partnership, which is conducive to raising the level of cooperation between the two sides, developing new cooperation fields, and achieving advantage complementation, mutual benefit, win-win and common development," said Shen at the signing ceremony.
Shell is one of the world's largest international energy companies. It topped the list of Fortune Global 500 in 2012 and 2013 consecutively. Also, Shell is one of the international energy companies with the highest investment in China. Now YCPC has been operating over 400 fuel stations in provinces like Shaanxi, Sichuan and Shanxi in cooperation with Shell.
